I’m told by my friends that this “thumb sucking” thing is really cool. Unfortunately, I haven’t quite mastered the technique yet and mommy and daddy seem to content to laugh and mention how cute it is that instead of sucking my thumb, I just stick my whole hand in my mouth. Funny guys, those parents of mine…
I feel like there might be something to this...
Now if I could just get one of these fingers alone...
Maybe this index finger? Hmm...
Okay, this is getting frustrating...
By far the coolest place I've ever eaten in...
I got hungry at the rehearsal dinner so mommy snuck into the back room to feed me…
(Dad note: The rehearsal dinner was in this really cool wine cellar at the St. Regis. The picture doesn’t fully capture it, but the whole room had a red glow. Maile was great through the whole meal and Kari and Justin (the bride and groom) were very cool to let Maile crash with us…)
Okay, so as my daddy previously mentioned, we are on a “vacation” this weekend. I don’t work, so not sure what I’m vacationing from exactly, but I can certainly get used to this.
We are staying at a resort called the St. Regis Resort at Monarch Beach. My mommy’s friend, Kari, is getting married here. I asked my daddy what a “resort” was and he said its just a really nice “hotel”. I then asked him what a “hotel” was and well, we didn’t get very far after that.
But I can tell you one thing, the beds in this place are AMAZING. I liked the bed so much that I actually slept for 7 hours last night! Need to figure out how to bribe my daddy into dumping my crib in exchange for one of these puppies…
Not sure where Mommy and Daddy are sleeping, but I'm good right here...
Seriously, can I get one of these for my room?
Dad, you hook me up with one of these, no more waking up in the middle of the night. Pinky swear!
(Dad note: It’s true, Maile did really sleep for 7 hours. It’s the longest Christine has slept uninterrupted since she was born!)
Mommy saw daddy’s post about dressing me in shorts over sweat pants and immediately went out and bought me some cute new clothes – check me out in overalls!
I'm in good hands with my mommy - she has great style!
Yeah, I did.
I’m getting bigger now so I can fit into some of my more “fun” onesies. My daddy loves this one – he was laughing all day.
Perhaps that is why he did this:
Umm... this doesn't feel right daddy...
This doesn’t bode well for when I get a bit older. If he can’t figure out a onesie, how’s he going to handle something like a blouse?
(Dad note: I honestly didn’t do this on purpose. And I didn’t notice until I got the first button snapped and it felt a little off. It immediately reminded me of when wearing shorts over your sweatpants was “cool” in elementary school circa the mid-1980’s. Like Josh Brolin’s character in Goonies … or this girl:
Will Maile bring back the 1980's fashions?
Is this what the future has in store for Maile?)
What a great week with Grandma Jill & Grandpa Mike!
If I look a little sad in the picture above its only because my Grandma Jill and Grandpa Mike left today. I had an amazing week with them. Mommy and daddy both say I grew up a lot this week and started interacting a lot more. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I’m sure Grandma Jill will say otherwise.
I can’t wait to see them again in November on their home turf!
So according to Grandpa Mike my yellow giraffe is from New Jersey and hangs with a guy named Tony - he tells lots of great stories.
Neither Grandpa Mike nor I can believe what that d-mn blue monkey just did... absolutely shocking.
I think Grandpa Mike is in love - I know I am!
What's that? I'm 7 week old? You don't say...
Whoa, slow down there daddy, not quite ready for the shoulder ride yet!
Hmm... you look familiar. We've met before, right?
I’m a lucky girl. As I mentioned previously, my Grandma Jill is here this week to visit me (and rumor has it my Grandpa Mike might be coming on Friday!) We’ve had a great time so far getting reacquainted. Apparently, I met her already when I was first born – but that whole period of my life is a bit hazy. I really remember nothing from weeks 1-3. Regardless, we’re becoming fast friends.
Grandma Jill is SUPER comfortable!
Grandma Jill has read to me, taken me on walks, introduced me to a “rattle” (very cool btw) and based on the smells in the house, she’s cooked my mommy and daddy some great meals. We’ve had lots of fun – and she’s going to watch me on Thursday night so mommy and daddy can have a “date night.” Once again, I’m a bit hazy on what a “date night” is all about – but according to my daddy its something I’m not allowed to do for awhile.
I love my Grandma Jill!
So embarrassing when my mom and I wear the same color...
Is my face getting a bit rounder?
Yep, there's my double chin. Now, I really look like my daddy!
(Dad Note: That’s not very nice, Maile.)
