Due to my chicken pox we’ve been couped up inside the past couple of days. Needless to say we are starting to get a little stir crazy!
While mommy was working yesterday, I told daddy I was a bit bored. He took me into the bedroom and taught me all about jumping on the bed. I don’t think I was very good at it – but cut me some slack, it was my very first time! If you look carefully, you can see that while I don’t get nearly the same height that daddy gets, I do have the head bobbing motion down pretty good. Daddy mentioned this is another thing to add to the list of things he’s going to be sorry he taught me one day very soon…
(Oh, and yes, I’m feeling much better – although I think I might milk – no pun intended – this extra special care my parents are giving me a bit longer: sleeping in the big bed with mommy and daddy, nursing whenever I want – you know, the good life!)
When Mommy came home from work this afternoon she had a surprise with her – Auntie Kari! She was in town from Los Angeles. You might remember I went to her wedding way back in September when I was only 6 weeks old! She told me she couldn’t believe how much I had grown up. I should her all my new tricks – and tossed in a melt down right before bed so she didn’t think I was a perfect angel 🙂
I had great fun visiting with Auntie Kari (and thanks for the fun presents too!)
Dad note: Auntie Kari also learned how hard it is to take pictures with a 10 month old - look at the bunny, Maile!
I’ve come to realize I’m a lucky little girl and I love my mommy very, very much. I asked daddy to help me put together a little memento of all the things mommy and I have done together these past (almost) 10 months…
I hope all the other mommies out there have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Love, Maile Girl

My daddy is sick … again. This time he managed to get shingles. On his face. Poor daddy – apparently hanging out with us little babies and our germs isn’t treating him all that well. He feels okay overall although his face is a little swollen. Mommy says he looks like a Navi … except he hasn’t turned blue. Yet.
In any event – daddy being sick kind of stinks for me. I can’t play with him quite as much. I hope he gets better soon!
In the meantime, check out my pretty eyelashes! (Can’t end this blog post on a downer!)
Aren't my eyelashes pretty?
(Dad note: All of the above is true. I’m fine. They say shingles can be painful, but right now I’m more uncomfortable. I’m on the good meds so hopefully I’ll be better in a few days.)
“Veronica and I trying this new fad called uh, jogging. I believe it’s jogging or yogging. it might be a soft j. I’m not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It’s supposed to be wild.”
– Ron Burgundy, Anchorman
Sure Mommy, I'll go jogging with you!
For Hannukah Grandma Jill and Grandpa Mike bought us a jogging stroller. Since the weather was nice this weekend, mommy asked me if I wanted to take it out for a spin. I like my regular stroller, so I figured why not, even though I don’t really know what jogging is.
I thought it was a little strange that mommy got all dressed up in special “jogging” clothes, but I just wore one of my normal outfits. If this is going to become a regular thing, I think I need to look the part and get me some exercise gear (wink, wink).
Mommy and me ready to hit the road.
Blue monkey. Check. Cheerios. Check. Water bottle. Check. Other play things. Check. Okay, I'm ready to go exercise!
Mommy and I had a lot of fun – although she definitely got much sweatier than I did. Mommy said next time, Daddy might even join us! (Dad note: she said that, eh?)
