Learning Hide & Seek

by Papa K on May 3, 2011

After work today I decided to teach Maile and Hannah how to play hide & seek. The results were mixed.

The hiding part … did not really go as planned:

The seeking part went better (it’s a little hard to hear, but Maile Girl is counting to “10” before she comes to “find” us – she only gets to 4 – by saying “1,2” twice – but its a start):

Maile Does Stinson Beach

by Papa K on May 2, 2011

On Saturday, Mommy, Daddy told me that we were going to go on an adventure to a place called Stinson Beach to visit my friend Zeb and his new sister Noe. I always have fun with Zeb, so I was pretty excited.

We went on this crazy drive in the car, lots of twisty turns and then we arrived at a beautiful beach. Here are some pictures we took – despite the fact that I had to put yucky sunblock on, I had lots of fun!

Daddy, wake up and put on some sunblock you are going to get burnt! (Dad note: she was right, great nap, but fried my face!)

This is Zeb on his boogie board - isn't he dreamy?

Maile's stamp commemorating her first poop in the potty...

Maile's stamp commemorating her first poop in the potty...

Big news tonight on the home front (and no, it has nothing to do with the death of a certain terrorist). We were doing some family hang time this evening when Maile said something about “poop”. Mommy asked her if she needed to go and she said “yes” – so they headed over to the potty (along with some reading material … after all you need a good book on the potty!)

After about 10 minutes of reading and singing, sure enough a little poop made its way to the potty. It might surprise you, but we decided not to film this momentous occasion. We did, however, conduct a post potty interview:

“Awesome” is a new word from this evening as well – it feels right!
