Recently, Maile has been going through the whole bed time routine and then a few minutes after we finish, she’ll announce that she isn’t tired (even though it’s clear she is exhausted) and that she wants to get out of bed. We tell her that it’s time to go to sleep and leave her room. Most of the time she ends up falling asleep, but every once in a while she will try to sneak out of bed. When this happens, we’ll find her just lying in the hallway – how this is more comfortable than her bed is beyond me.

In any event, the other night, she sneaked out of her bed and lied down in the hallway. We knew she was there, but we decided to ignore her. Over the next 10 minutes, she slowly inched her way down the hallway into the living room. She was completely quiet the whole time, just lied on her pillow and slowly moved down the hallway. Christine and I were sitting on the couch watching TV – we ignored her. She basically ignored us until she was all the way in the living room.

I'm good right here on the floor.

I'm good right here on the floor.

Maybe this is one of those where you needed to be there, but Christine and I thought it was hilarious…
