Daddy went away last weekend. I snuck up on the bed and tried to get him to pack me, but alas he figured it out…

I’ve noticed recently that there is this angel that watches over me – she shows up whenever I am in my swing. She just likes to check in and make sure things are going okay. I thought I was the only one who could see her, but mommy caught her on video – so that’s proof! We also contemplate the meaning of life together – that’s way I look so thoughtful in this video.

We thought we’d check in and give an update on Maile’s tummy time/head lift progress. She’s come along way since the first video we took about a month and a half ago. Here is the first video from August 6th:

Clearly progress has been made. But before we get too excited – we unfortunately can’t report the same progress on the “thumb sucking”…

Maile has been particularly happy and smiley in the mornings recently. Pretty much nothing better than rolling out of bed and going into her room to find her in her crib smiling away ready to get another day started. Best alarm clock I’ve ever had!
Since it is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, Maile also wanted to send out her best wishes to all her Jewish family the best way she knows how – basically smiling and laughing!

Seriously, GET OFF! Can't believe I'm going to be known as the baby with a green ring attached to her hand. Sweet.
(Dad note: We saw this one coming for a few days now. Maile has mastered the “grip”, but is still working on the “release”. Rest assured, after many pictures and a few chuckles, mommy freed Maile from her green ring and all was well…)

Hard to believe our baby girl passed the two month milestone this past weekend. Over the past couple of weeks she has gotten much more active – lots of cooing, much more movement, she seems to be figuring out her hands, she “plays” a bit more with her toys, and best of all, lots of smiles and she seems to recognize Christine and I. We can’t wait to see what comes next!

Celebrating the Patriots' come back victory...
Okay, my daddy needs to calm down. Yes, the Patriots won, but I have to say I’m disappointed in the way things played out. Sloppy game all around. Bottom line: we’ll take the “W”, but we got lucky.
(Dad note: Apparently, Maile Girl is taking the Bill Belichick-style sleeves a bit too far. She was very harsh in her criticism of the Pats after the game. Hope they pick it up and meet her high standards next week…)

Hey, what happened to my sleeves?
Maile is ready to rock for the Patriots/Bills game tonight thanks to the Patriots onesie from her cousins Jason, Sandy, Aidan and Caleb! We did make a slight adjustment so she could prove she was legit – we cut off the sleeves, Bill Belichick-style!
Bill would be proud of our girl...
